How to play Jump King split screen on PC

  1. Get Nucleus Co-op

    Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.

    Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.

  2. Install the Jump King handler

    In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Jump King and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Jump King is installed.

  3. Take a seat

    Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.

    Playing with several keyboards and mice? Press End once everything is in place to give each window its own cursor.

  4. Launch and connect

    Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Jump King per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

  • A PC that can run 8 copies

    Each player runs their own copy of Jump King, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips

  • A multiplayer mode

    Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.

Handler notes

  • Handler for the latest Steam version of the game, not Legacy version. Set your main game to windowed before running this.

  • Split-screen setup.

  • To connect the instances start a game all in the same area, press start in one instance and go to options-mods-multiplayer, create a lobby, select invite friends and invite the other players via the overlay that will show, right click on them and click invite, in the other instances press F1 to accept the invite, alt-tab between instances to use the keyboard, if the overlay does not show make sure you disable any external overlays that could be interfering.

  • Your saves per instance are inside Nucleus content folder in the Jump King instances folders (Content\Saves), so be careful about not deleting them, you can also copy your main saves there.

  • If you use multiple keyboards press the END key once when the instances finish setting up to lock and restrict the keyboards to each instance correctly. Press the END key again to unlock the input when you finish playing. You can also use CTRL+Q to close Nucleus and all its instances when the input is unlocked.

  • This handler already includes this mod for multiplayer support, if you want to use other workshop mods place them in NucleusCo-op\handlers\Jump King\mods.
