How to play Counter Spell split screen on PC
Get Nucleus Co-op
Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.
Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.
Install the Counter Spell handler
In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Counter Spell and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Counter Spell is installed.
Take a seat
Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.
Playing with several keyboards and mice? Press End once everything is in place to give each window its own cursor.
Launch and connect
Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Counter Spell per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

Handler notes
-
Make sure you ran your main game at least once before using this for the proper config files to generate.
-
Create a new character per instance for the saving to work correctly, these characters will get saved to Nucleus Co-op instances folders inside its content folder so be careful about deleting it.
-
Click on start game, create a lobby in one instance and join in the others using find lobbies, use your main mouse cursor to navigate the menus, gamepad support works until you are in-game.
-
After all the instances have launched, resized and positioned correctly, press the END key to lock the input for all instances to have their own cursor and get focus, even for gamepad instances. You need to left click each mouse to make the emulated cursors appear after locking the input, click with any mouse if the camera starts moving on its own rapidly when you lock the input to fix it. Press the END key again to unlock the input when you finish playing. You can also use CTRL+Q to close Nucleus and all its instances when the input is unlocked.
-
Add custom resolutions in your AMD/Nvidia/Intel panel (for example for a 1920x1080 monitor add: 960x1080, 960x540, 1920x540 etc.) so the game can see and use them.

About Counter Spell
"Counter Spell" combines elements of classic role playing games with modern stealth-based shooters. Single player, multiplayer coop, and competitive multiplayer are all supported with different game modes for each. An open, streaming world makes for an exciting sandbox to adventure in! Counter Spell Classic is the original Counter Spell realm. It contains over twenty zones, over forty quests, and is about a half square kilometer in size. There are several mini-bosses and a final boss to defeat. It offers a fully fleshed out and complete game, and is still occasionally updated. The Classic Realm's graphics are more basic and generally provide better performance for players with older machines. Counter Spell Reforged is the beta Counter Spell realm. The Reforged Realm showcases the newest graphics, models, and tech that Counter Spell has to offer. It is still under heavy development and new content is constantly being added. It does not currently contain any official quests or bosses, but they are coming soon.
