How to play Dead Rising 3 split screen on PC
Get Nucleus Co-op
Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.
Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.
Install the Dead Rising 3 handler
In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Dead Rising 3 and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Dead Rising 3 is installed.
Take a seat
Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.
Launch and connect
Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Dead Rising 3 per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

- Something to play with
One controller per player: Xbox, PlayStation or generic pads. Controllers
- A PC that can run 2 copies
Each player runs their own copy of Dead Rising 3, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips
- A multiplayer mode
Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.
Handler notes
Run your main game at least one time first and change some graphic settings before launching via the app. Use the Flawless Widescreen option to fix the stretching/bars.

Set 10 years after the events of Fortune City in Dead Rising 2, players are introduced to Nick Ramos, a young mechanic with a strange tattoo and a mysterious past, who must find a way to escape a city full of zombies before an impending military strike wipes the city of Los Perdidos, California, and everyone in it, off the map. Nick can’t do it alone – he must join up with other survivors to stay alive. They must fight their way out before it’s too late.

Working and tested (September 18, 2023) just change the line on the js code to Game.KillMutex = [ "DeadRising2", to "DeadRising3," and have a steam game version (tried latest update 6) can be played locally offline.
