How to play GTFO split screen on PC
Get Nucleus Co-op
Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.
Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.
Install the GTFO handler
In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for GTFO and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where GTFO is installed.
Take a seat
Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.
Playing with several keyboards and mice? Press End once everything is in place to give each window its own cursor.
Launch and connect
Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of GTFO per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

Handler notes
-
Requires these LAN fix files, extract the .zip with 7zip and move the GTFO folder inside to NucleusCo-op\handlers, alongside the GTFO.js or the handler won't work.
-
Tested and working with the latest Steam version as of 14/March/2025.
-
Make sure you have a clean install of this game without any mods before running this. On first launch the instances will take a while to open because BepinEx will apply the LAN fix. After an instance fully opens select the GTFO process in Nucleus process picker window, alt-tab to the process picker window if you can not move your cursor to select the process.
-
To connect the instances host a lobby in an instance, remove the bots if there are any, select +invite and invite the other players, they will auto join your lobby, you can also invite via the overlay, alt-tab to or click on a game window and open the invite overlay with left shift+tab, right click the other players and select invite, if the overlay does not show make sure you disable any external overlays that could be interfering. Reduce graphics in your main game to improve performance.
-
If you use keyboards/mice after all the instances have launched, resized and positioned correctly, press the END key once to lock the input for all instances to have their own cursor, you need to left click each mouse to make the emulated cursors appear after locking the input. Press the END key again to unlock the input when you finish playing.
