Handler notes

  • Tested and working with latest legit Steam version as of March 23 2023, don't update if a big update comes out as the handler could break.

  • Split-screen setup guide.

  • Get past the tutorial in all instances to connect to the same online server, select friends only in the game options for a private game.

  • If you launch gamepad instances in the game control options select xbox controller. If you use keyboards and mice select the mouse/keyboard controls in the game control options and after all the instances have launched, resized and positioned correctly, press the END key once to lock the input for all instances to have their own working cursor and keyboard. You need to left click each mouse to make the emulated cursors appear after locking the input. Press the END key again to unlock the input when you finish playing. You can also use CTRL+Q to close Nucleus and all its instances when the input is unlocked.

  • Remap gamepad triggers per instance for they to work correctly. Xbox One/Series gamepads could have issues with background input/focus because of this. You can use the app reWASD to covert them to xbox 360 gamepads or follow this guide.
