How to play Mega Man Arena split screen on PC

  1. Get Nucleus Co-op

Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.

Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.

    Download Nucleus Co-op

  2. Install the Mega Man Arena handler

In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Mega Man Arena and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Mega Man Arena is installed.

    Download the handler file (.nc)

  3. Take a seat

Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.

  4. Launch and connect

Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Mega Man Arena per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

  • A PC that can run 4 copies

Each player runs their own copy of Mega Man Arena, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips

  • A multiplayer mode

Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.

Handler notes

  • Free Mega Man quality co-op fan game: https://www.megamanarena.com/

  • Split-screen setup guide.

  • Set your main game to windowed before running this. Host an online game in one instance and in the others in "Mode:" choose direct ip, select join, write 127.0.0.1 and press enter in your keyboard to join, click on or alt-tab to an instance to use the keyboard, if you can not connect more than 2 players exit the room in one instance, join with the instance that could not connect then join again with the instance that exited.

  • The game already has 4 players local co-op but with this handler each player gets his own screen and you can play splitscreen+online.

  • If the game windows resize or stretch on their own after you finish a match or when you get the p2p warning (select do not show again) use the Nucleus Co-op shortcut CTRL+T twice to fix them.

  • Read the FAQ if you have any further questions and want to know more about Nucleus Co-op.
