Get Nucleus Co-op
Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.
Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.

Install the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 2 handler
In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 2 and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 2 is installed.

Take a seat
Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.
Launch and connect
Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 2 per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

Tested and working with latest legit Steam version as of 4/12/2024. Controllers only for now.

On first launch if the instances resize incorrectly just get past the title screen in all instances, close Nucleus and launch again. Start a game in all instances then press start and go to comm. or network, host a public lobby in one instance and join in the other by selecting guest, use the same online options.
This game ties save data to player steam id so if you want to use your main save in one of the instances you have to find and set your player steam id in Nucleus settings players tab, then copy your main save to the correct Nucleus save path you can access in the UI by right clicking the game and selecting open userprofile save path.
