How to play Mega Man Zero Online split screen on PC

Get Nucleus Co-op
Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.
Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.

Install the Mega Man Zero Online handler
In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Mega Man Zero Online and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Mega Man Zero Online is installed.

Take a seat
Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.
Launch and connect
Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Mega Man Zero Online per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

Each player runs their own copy of Mega Man Zero Online, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips
A multiplayer mode
Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.

Rename the game .exe to MegamanZeroOnlineLegacy0.4.0.2.exe if you can not add it to Nucleus.
Host a LAN game in one instance by writing 127.0.0.1 in the IP field then join in the others using the same IP or to change maps host a private game using the find games menu, write the name of the match before selecting the game instance in Nucleus process picker window.
Use your main mouse cursor and keyboard to navigate the main menu, to RESTRICT the gamepads correctly click on controls and select only one gamepad per instance, tick all squares in a Joystick for that specific instance, same if you use a keyboard instance, alt-tab to the keyboard instance to control it.
This handler also supports dinput gamepads, xinput emulators are not needed. Xbox One/Series gamepads could have issues with background input/focus because of this. You can use the app reWASD to convert them to xbox 360 gamepads or follow this guide.
