How to play Need for Speed: Underground split screen on PC

  1. Get Nucleus Co-op

    Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.

    Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.

  2. Install the Need for Speed: Underground handler

    In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Need for Speed: Underground and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Need for Speed: Underground is installed.

  3. Take a seat

    Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.

  4. Launch and connect

    Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Need for Speed: Underground per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

    Each player runs their own copy of Need for Speed: Underground, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips

  • A multiplayer mode

    Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.

DONT HAVE ANY MODS INSTALLED SOME WILL BREAK RESIZING/RESOLUTION OR THE CONTROLLERS.

The saves per instance are stored inside Nucleus Co-op content folder so if you delete Nucleus or the game content folder, your Nucleus saves for this game will be lost(not your main game save).

Recommended that you add custom resolutions to all your monitors from your AMD/Nvidia/Intel panel (for example if you are using a monitor resolution of 1920x1080 add custom resolutions like 1920x540, 960x1080, 960x540, etc.)

Race other customized cars through a detailed nighttime cityscape, dodging city traffic and navigating shortcuts all the while.     It works perfectly well, unfortunately I tested it with six people and unfortunately the last two instances and the last two accounts were unable to connect to the server for some reason, I have no idea what the problem could be but other than this small problem it works perfectly well for four people I recommend it. Rating 10 out of 10

      I only made pre-made profiles for the first 4 players. So you gotta make profiles for the others instances to connect
