How to play Otherworld Legends split screen on PC

  1. Get Nucleus Co-op

    Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.

    Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.

  2. Install the Otherworld Legends handler

    In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Otherworld Legends and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Otherworld Legends is installed.

  3. Take a seat

    Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.

  4. Launch and connect

    Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Otherworld Legends per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

  • A PC that can run 4 copies

    Each player runs their own copy of Otherworld Legends, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips

  • A multiplayer mode

    Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.

Handler notes

■ Max of 4 Players Co-op.

■ One KB/M and multiple gamepads support only.

■ Tested with the latest version of the game from Steam.

INSTRUCTIONS: To unlock multiplayer get past the tutorial level or die and exit it. To connect the instances host a game in the room with the Owl then the other instances can join there too. Alt-tab to an instance to write the name of a room, alt-tab to the kb/m instance to control it too. Press CTRL+T twice in-game if you get stretching in vertical split-screen.

If you get an error message about a directory not being found right away after launching this handler, try copying your Otherworld Legends game folder from the default Steam installation path to a shorter install path like in the root of your drive for example, then add that one to Nucleus for the handler to work.
