How to play Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II split screen on PC
Get Nucleus Co-op
Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.
Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.
Install the Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II handler
In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II is installed.
Take a seat
Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.
Launch and connect
Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Pirates, Vikings, and Knights II per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.
Handler notes
In order to get the script working you need to move and the pvkii folder into sdkbase_pvkii. If a prompt comes up to replace the files, click yes.
So the new path for pvkii will now be pirates, vikings and knights ii\\sdkbase_pvkii\\pvkii.
Please note that controller config might not be optimal, if you want to change the controls in any way, please edit the cfg file inside YOUR_NUCLEUSCOOP_FOLDER\handlers\Pirates Vikings and Knights II.
Start a server on the first instance. Start the next instance when you are in-game. Click on the last Nucleus prompt when all instances are set. If you use the keyboard click/alt-tab on the corresponding keyboard-player instance.
