How to play Postal 2 split screen on PC

  1. Get Nucleus Co-op

Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.

Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.

    Download Nucleus Co-op

  2. Install the Postal 2 handler

In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Postal 2 and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Postal 2 is installed.

    Download the handler file (.nc)

  3. Take a seat

Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.

  4. Launch and connect

Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Postal 2 per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

What you need

  • A Windows 10 or 11 PC

Nucleus Co-op runs on Windows only. System requirements

  • Postal 2 for Windows

Installed on that PC. Nucleus starts every player's window from that one install.

  • Nucleus Co-op, free

With .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later and the Visual C++ 2015–2022 runtimes (x86 and x64). Download

  • Something to play with

One controller per player: Xbox, PlayStation or generic pads. Controllers

  • A PC that can run 16 copies

Each player runs their own copy of Postal 2, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips

  • A multiplayer mode

Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.

Handler notes

SUPPORTS GAMEPADS ONLY!!!
REQUIRED:
  1. Have your game totally CLEAN!

  2. Not necessary to download any mod manually!!

  3. You will need to use Game build: 5025.

  • If you don't know how to change betas, click here.

This Handler use Nicks Co-op mod to enable campaign co-op, without it, it wouldn't be possible!

IMPORTANT:
SAVES:

Always save before exiting the game, use the SAVE GAME option in the instances pause menu.
You will need to use the mouse to create a server/join, as the game shares the same mouse for all instances.

FOV:

Can be adjusted in-game. Press the ~ (tilde) key during gameplay to type in the game console, example: FOV 101.

OTHERS:

It is NOT necessary to press the END key as usual, just wait for the instances to open and reposition correctly.
Avoid closing the game in any way, use the Nucleus hotkeys to close instances (Default: Ctrl+E).
Sometimes the mouse cursor may be persistent when exiting the pause menu, this is due to the game using gamepad emulating mouse in the menu, so just enter and exit the pause menu in any instance for the cursor to disappear.

ONLINE:

You can play LAN and Online,
Do not leave the option to create a dedicated server checked!!! It does not work well
Remember to only select servers that host games created with the Nicks Coop mod!!

CREDITS:

My sincere thanks to Evil (creator of the mod) for supporting this handler and helping me fix a problem in the game engine. THANKS.

About Postal 2

Try to live a week as The Postal Dude doing everyday chores on your to-do list, such as picking up milk at the grocery store. In a world where cats can be used as assault rifle silencers, it's not surprising that a milk carton costs 5 bucks. Stealing said carton might be relatively easy in your basic corner shop, but when the shop is owned by a bunch of trigger happy jihadists, you might want to think twice about trying to leave without paying for your overpriced groceries. Little mistakes like that might just flip the switch and make you go postal.
