How to play Elden Ring split screen on PC
Get Nucleus Co-op
Download Nucleus Co-op, free for Windows 10 and 11, and unzip it into its own folder, for example C:\NucleusCo-op. There is no installer.
Keep it out of Program Files, your user folder and OneDrive.
Install the Elden Ring handler
In Nucleus Co-op, search the Hub for Elden Ring and install its handler, or download the handler file from this page and drop it on the Nucleus window. Then show Nucleus where Elden Ring is installed.
Take a seat
Each player presses a button on their own controller to join and takes a spot on the screen. Pick a layout that fits your players.
Playing with several keyboards and mice? Press End once everything is in place to give each window its own cursor.
Launch and connect
Press Launch: Nucleus opens one copy of Elden Ring per player and lays the windows out on your screen. Then link them in game, usually one player hosts a LAN or online session and the others join it. The handler notes say how.

Each player runs their own copy of Elden Ring, so the PC carries several times the usual load. Lower the graphics settings if it struggles. Performance tips
- A multiplayer mode
Nucleus links the windows through the game's own LAN or online mode; the handler takes care of it.
Handler notes
This handler includes the Seamless Co-op mod by LukeYui - https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/510 and Mod Loader by TechieW - https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/117. Credit to them for their great work.
Let all instances load to the title screen before using inputs. If you are using at least one mouse and keyboard press the END key (default keybinding) to lock/unlock the input. Make sure to alt-tab to a non-game window before locking.
The host must use the Tiny Great Pot to create a session. At that point, the other players can join using the Effigy of Meleina. You should spawn in at a point nearby the host. Any player can leave at any time using the Separating Mist - If the host uses this item, the session will be disbanded and all players will disconnect. Make sure to complete the tutorial before attempting to connect the instances.
To use Mod Loader simply enable the launch option in Nucleus, as long as your mods are located in the original game folder's "mods" folder they should work.

For your consideration, The ''FSR Frame Generation and Temporal Super Resolution (ERSS-FG)'' from Nexus mods works fabulously with this.
Happy to report that my previous issue has been resolved and was due to defender picking up something in the background that I was not noticing. So all I did was do fresh installs all around plus some exclusions and its working flawlessly again. Thanks again for keeping this up to date and working!

Seems the seamless co-op dev added some Steam Datagram Relay stuff to the mod that isn't currently fully supported by goldberg emu so you get a datagram error when you update the mod above 1.7.7.
Hmm, thanks for explaining, bummer then for some dlc progress issues. Hopefully goldberg can support that at some point.
The handler has been updated to work with latest seamless co-op v1.8.0 now.

Hello, i need help with nucles coop. I dont have Tiny Great Pot and Effigy of Meleina in new dlc version of game. HELP!!!
Should just rest at bonfire and see if it gets added.
Testing has been pretty good, its seems to be working well. Needs to be updated again though to the latest 1.7.9 currently. Had a good 4+ hour session of all coop and only had 2 or 3 crashes but hard to tell if they were handler or mod related. I'm guessing more mod related. But still more then playable currently and will get more stable.
How's the testing been with the DLC? I want to try this with a friend this weekend and was thinking about picking up the DLC for it.

`There is info at nexus mods site on undergoing test of new version of seamless coop mod, which will work with new version of elden ring. So we have to wait.

How do i use the built in seemless coop to play with friends online? I want to play with my sis, here at home, and then my bro the down a few states away.
If you played Elden Ring seamless coop before without Nucleus coop, make sure to remove the manually installed files from your game folder before using nucleus coop! Nucleus will have the files for coop already.
I found a solution. I had Seamless coop installed in my main game files. I removed it. Now it works.
If you get "No sessions found" it's most likely an issue with either Windows firewall or a third party firewall you have running. Definitely start by checking that.
